Christine (Chris) L. McCloud is the Founder and Executive Director of Turning Point Community Services, Inc. (TPCS), a not-for-profit agency located in Irvington NJ that provides emergency shelter and supportive services for homeless women and their children.  The goal of TPCS for the past 15 years has been to provide safe and secure emergency housing and developing/implementing programs that facilitate a person’s ability to become self-sufficient by helping them to break the cycles of violence, substance abuse, poverty, and incarceration that have permeated their lives and keep them at increased risk for homelessness.

Chris has worked in the not-for-profit world for almost 30 years with extensive experience in the development of special needs housing and programs for individuals with HIV/AIDS; mental health disabilities; veterans; homeless individuals and families with children; people with a history of substance and alcohol abuse; survivors of domestic violence; and has extensive experience in the development of work readiness programs for formerly incarcerated individuals.

In addition to her professional life, Chris is an ordained deacon of the Sacred Order of Deacons in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark and currently serves at the Church of the Holy Innocents in West Orange, NJ.  She also serves as the Archdeacon for Administration and Formation for the Diocese of Newark; is a member of the Diocesan Standing Committee; is a member of NAMASTE (Anti-Racism Committee) and is a Spiritual Advisor for the Diocese of New York Episcopal Cursillo Community.
