Senior Clinician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Clinician is responsible for the behavioral and mental health component of Turning Point Community Services’ (TPCS) Clinical + Supportive Services (CSS) Division. The CSS division encompasses key programmatic areas such as clinical services, case management, continued support, and auxiliary services. This role provides clinical leadership and oversight to junior clinicians and other clinical personnel. Collaborating closely with the senior leadership and other leadership team members, the Lead Clinician will develop strategies for monitoring client progress and goal completion.

This position has supervision responsibility, including conducting and participating in performance appraisals for clinical supervisees and program interns, assessing clinical needs, and providing recommendations for clinical program improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical  Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct trauma-informed, evidence-based assessment and treatment services for families in TPCS’s housing programs to provide counseling and crisis services to program participants serving children. (0-18) and adults.
  • Maintains a minimum caseload of 15-20 clients, including children and adults
  • Maintains all appropriate client records, including but not limited to treatment plans, consultation notes, contact notes, and safety plans.
  • Administers and interprets psychological assessment instruments as needed to facilitate the counseling process.
  • Serves as the client’s liaison to external partners by consulting and collaborating regularly with other social agencies and community resources to establish and provide families with coordinated social and mental health services.
  • Collaborates with program case managers to support client referrals to psychiatrists or community agencies/providers when medication, hospitalization, or intensive or specialized treatment is indicated.
  • Participates in regular departmental meetings, including case consultations, and pursues professional development activities per licensing/certifying guidelines.
  • Facilitates at least one wellness support group (4 weeks) for specialized wellness programming (i.e., emotional regulation, self-esteem building, relationship management, etc.).

Management and Supervision

  • Conduct relevant internal training to enhance staff skills. Schedule appropriate external training as needed to support staff development.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for clinical supervisors.
  • Work with others to address client complaints and conduct investigations as required.
  • Provide final oversight of program record-keeping systems, including electronic health records, HIPAA compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Provide clinical supervision/consultation provisionally licensed staff and interns.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work required; licensed or certified in general mental health counseling: LPC; LMFT; LCSW; LCDAC, etc.
  • Clinical supervision certificate or ability to obtain within three months.
  • A minimum of four years experience providing direct clinical mental health counseling.
  • A minimum of one year of experience supervising provisionally licensed clinicians.
  • Strong clinical orientation and understanding of family dynamics, systems, and persons in environment theories.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of social work, social and economic issues, and government/federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and sensitivity to individuals from varying sociodemographic backgrounds, including the LGBTQIA+ community, HIV-affected, domestic violence, seniors, and individuals with substance use.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite applications (email, calendar, drive, docs, etc.).
  • Possess superb oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain client records, including case notes, treatment plans, collateral contacts, etc.

COMPENSATION

The qualified candidate will be offered a competitive compensation and benefits package. The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $90,000.
