Executive Director

Karimah A. Hagans, Esq., serves as the Executive Director of Turning Point Community Services. As Executive Director, Karimah is responsible for implementing initiatives and objectives to fulfill the agency’s mission. She is responsible for the overall strategic planning and operation of the agency, including the development of programs, fundraising, and community outreach. 

When it comes to helping women overcome barriers, Karimah’s passion is personally driven. Raised by a single mother and domestic violence survivor, Karimah witnessed first-hand what is required for women and their families to get back on their feet. Karimah started her human services career in the District of Columbia, working for non-profit organizations and governmental agencies with a focus on assisting survivors of domestic violence. Her range of experience includes: facilitating the daily operations of homeless and domestic violence shelters; researching and writing grants; fundraising; and providing pro bono legal assistance in the areas of domestic violence and family law. 

Under Karimah’s guidance, Turning Point Community Services has witnessed unprecedented growth. Her visionary leadership has seen the implementation of innovative programs that address the underlying causes of homelessness. She is committed to creating a dynamic team dedicated to the organization’s mission to expand its reach, strengthen its impact, and sustain its success.
