Social Media + Marketing Intern/Extern

Reports to: Chief Development Officer

Program/Location: TPCS Administrative Office (Springfield/Short Hills Location)

POSITION SUMMARY

Turning Point Community Services (TPCS) is looking for a Social Media + Marketing Intern/Extern.

This position will help students hone business, communication, collaboration, and creative skills that are applicable to any job in one’s career path.

SCHEDULE + COMPENSATION

  • August 2023 through May 2024
  • 15-20 hours per week
  • Hybrid work schedule. Willing to be in the office Tuesday – Thursday, min. three hours per day.
  • Along with credit eligibility, the candidate will receive a stipend in December and May.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring and building out followings on TPCS Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.
  • Researching and securing TPCS mission-related data and content.
  • Creating thought-leadership messaging on LinkedIn and creative content on Facebook and Instagram platforms.
  • Tracking and providing monthly analytics to the leadership team.
  • Helping with website, campaign and newsletter ideas, content and formatting.
  • Creating communication media: presentation, flyers, posters.
  • Take event photos and videos.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS 

  • College student pursuing a major in Public Relations, Media/Marketing, Design, Communications, or related field required.
  • Ability to analyze social media analytics.
  • 3.0 + GPA

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite applications (email, calendar, drive, docs, etc.). Willingness and ability to learn additional databases.
  • Possess superb verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to confidently interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong human relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to carry oneself in a professional manner.
