Spring Spotlight: Transformative Renovations and Impactful Partnerships
In case you are new here, we wanted to reintroduce ourselves. Turning Point Community Services, Inc., (TPCS), is a nonprofit organization committed to helping women overcome homelessness and abuse. We work to positively impact the lives of women by developing innovative programs and offering resources that support independence, nurture intrapersonal growth, and prepare them for a more prosperous future.
For over two decades, we’ve been steadfastly providing secure housing and essential support services to women and their children in the northern New Jersey area. If you’re curious to learn more about who we are and the range of services we offer, feel free to explore our website for a deeper dive.
What We're Doing
We have many projects in the works, but the first one we would like to share is our brand new TPCS tote bag. All of the proceeds for this tote will go directly to supporting our residents and the TPCS organization.
We’ve introduced this new bag as a way for you to share your donation efforts with the community while promoting the TPCS mission.
Not to mention, our tote bags were designed and manufactured by women-owned and operated businesses. This bag supports women…literally!
If you have too many tote bags at home (though we would say you can never have enough!), you can still support TPCS by providing a one time or recurring donation.
We're Hiring
TPCS is looking for a passionate and dedicated Development Officer to join our team of incredible professionals. We are a growing organization committed to making our community more equitable for women and their families. If you would like to join our team and make an impact on the lives of individuals that we serve, submit your application today!
BTW did you know we were hiring? You would if you followed us on Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn! Join the community today and leave a 📰 emoji in our comments section to let us know you came from our newsletter! Plus, you can always check back for new openings.
What’s New At TPCS
We are excited to share that our Servant’s House Emergency Housing facility is currently undergoing a few minor renovations. We are most excited about the development of our new on-site laundry room.
The addition of this new space is an essential part of our mission to create a safe and comfortable environment for our residents, allowing access to clean clothing and laundering services. The facility will be equipped with washers and dryers, a folding station, and a heat chamber to ensure that dirt and bacteria are being eliminated on items that can’t be put in the wash.
We’re currently seeking donations of:
- Laundry Detergent
- Dryer Sheets
- Fabric Softener
- Other Laundering Supplies
Donors can submit an in-kind donation or make a purchase through our Amazon wish list. We are so excited and can’t wait to share more of this journey with you!
Community Spotlight
In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, our Executive Director, Karimah A. Hagans, Esq., spoke with the young ladies of Adjust Your Crown, Inc., a youth mentorship nonprofit organization that supports young women through leadership, mentoring, and social development.
It was an honor for us to be invited to their event and we enjoyed listening to our head woman in charge speak on what it means to adjust her crown.
If you want to learn more about Adjust Your Crown, Inc., or sign up to volunteer, visit their site.
Donor Spotlight
We are truly grateful for all of our donors! We would like to send a special thanks to the team at Hillmann Consulting for their monthly donations of diapers and supplies to the residents in our Servant’s House facility.
“Hillmann chooses to support Turning Point Community Services because we are passionate about serving the women and children in our community. As mothers, we know the cost associated with diapering our babies, and want to lessen the burden. We love what you do to assure that women and children have everyday necessities and will continue to support your mission.”
– Sharon Brangman, Office Manager, Hillmann Consulting, LLC
